FAQ's

INGREDIENT_SPECIFICS

What is Creme de Noyaux, and what does it add to the Old Etonian?

Creme de Noyaux is a sweet, almond-flavored liqueur with a deep red color, made from apricot kernels or almonds. In the Old Etonian, it adds a unique nutty flavor and a hint of sweetness that complements the botanical notes of the gin and the citrusy kick from the orange bitters.

PREPARATION_TECHNIQUES

Why is the Old Etonian shaken and not stirred?

The Old Etonian is shaken to ensure that the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, chilled, and slightly diluted, which balances the flavors and improves the texture of the drink. Shaking introduces small air bubbles into the cocktail, giving it a slightly frothy texture that wouldn't be achieved by stirring.

SERVING_SUGGESTIONS

What is the ideal glassware for serving an Old Etonian?

An Old Etonian is best served in a cocktail glass. This traditional choice complements the sophisticated nature of the drink, allowing the aroma to be savored with every sip, and showcases its appealing visual aspect.

ALCOHOL_CONTENT_COMPARISON

How does the alcohol content of an Old Etonian compare to other classic cocktails?

With an alcohol content of 28.5%, the Old Etonian is moderately strong, falling within the middle range of alcohol content for classic cocktails. It's stronger than light cocktails like a Spritz but less potent than spirit-forward drinks such as a Martini or a Manhattan.

OCCASION_SUITABILITY

What occasions are most suitable for serving the Old Etonian?

The Old Etonian, with its refined balance of flavors and elegant presentation, is perfectly suited for formal occasions or sophisticated gatherings. It can be a choice cocktail at dinner parties, celebratory toasts, or as a distinguished option for a cocktail hour.
